City Water Filter recommends installing a Reverse Osmosis system (remove Arsenic, TCP, & Uranium). Reverse osmosis has been identified by EPA as a “best available technology” for uranium, radium, gross alpha, and beta particles and photon emitters.
Ceres exceeded the Maximum contaminate levels for Arsenic. See our Arsenic page to fully understand the implications this, . The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) established a non-enforceable Notification Level of 5 (ng/L) parts per trillion for 1,2,3-Trichloropropane (TCP). Ceres has reported levels at 1.33 microgram/liter for TCP. This is equal to 1,330,000 part per trillion of TCP. This is important because Uranium and TCP are radioactive contaminants and radioactive atoms may be absorbed through the skin’s surface.
According to the EPA “Some people who drink water containing alpha emitters in excess of the MCL over many years may have an increased risk of getting cancer.” Fetuses in the womb are very sensitive to radiation and so are bone marrow cells, since they are the fastest growing cells in the body.
