Water purification needs will be customized by your location.

City Water Filter installs four products for Milpitas: Whole House Sediment Filter, Whole House Carbon Filter, Water Conditioner, and 6-Stage Reverse Osmosis with Alkaline Water Filter.

Milpitas purchases water from the Santa Clara Valley Water Districtric (1/3) and from San Francisco Public Utilities Company (2/3). The map will let you know which district provides your household water. Both municipalities add Choramines in treatment of your water. Choramine are more toxic, less effective, and harder to remove than Chlorine. City Water Filter recommends the Whole House Water Filter to remove this chemical additive from your drinking and bath water. To Learn moreChloramine Facts.

Chromium– California Environmental Protection Agency had suggested the standard should be 0.02 parts per billion for Chromium(VI). Our Leaders weighed the health factors against costs of removing the Chromium(VI). The new California standard of 10 parts per billion is 500 times higher than advised by CalEPA! See your Water Quality Report, it exceeds 0.02 parts per billion. City Water Filter offers the 6-Stage Reverse Osmosis to remove the Chromium and provide Health Giving properties that also taste better than any water you can buy.

* San Francisco Public Utilities Company  represents the area in blue (2/3 of Milipitas). This means your water is also Fluoridated. We recommend removal of this toxic endocrine disruptor and offer the fluoride tank. Fluoride Supplements have Never Been Approved by the FDA! The CDC and ADA Now Advise to Avoid Using Fluoride!

Many have opted to install reverse osmosis systems combined with a fluoride filter to remove the fluoride. A whole house water filter that is customized to remove sediment, chloramine, and fluoride is recommended to treat drinking and bathing water.

* Santa Clara Valley Water District (1/3 of Milipitas) does not Fluoridate according to the Milpitas 2014 report. This conflicts with the May 2015 report for SCVWD because Fluoride was present at notification level of 2mg/L. According to the Milpitas quality report for 2014, the maximum contaminate levels of Lead and Cooper were listed as action level. Nitrates were also listed as 45 ppm with the maximum contaminate level goal of 45 (barely passing).

Because SCVWD water is sourced from ground, Hard Water might be a concern because of the damage created by mineral deposits clogging your pipes and appliances.

*City Water Filter offers an Eco Friendly scale prevention for the whole house without the the use of saltchemicals, or electricity. This Water Descaler by Nuwater prevents hard water scale from pipes, water heaters, tubs, showers and sinks. Protects and increases life expectancy of appliances. Use less soap and detergent while delivering greater cleaning effectiveness. You get conditioned water without the slippery feel.

If you have discolored water?

The quality report states, “Flushing of fire hydrants and water mains is performed to remove sediment and keep the distribution system refreshed. As a result, residents in the immediate vicinity may experience temporary discoloration in their water.”

GENERAL INFORMATION
The EPA sets legal limits on the levels of certain contaminants in drinking water. The legal limits reflect both the level that protects human health and the level that water systems can achieve using the best available technology. Most states and territories directly oversee the water systems. See current drinking water standards set by EPA.

All Water Quality Reports read this disclaimer:   “A Note for Sensitive Populations Some people may be more vulnerable to contaminants in drinking water than the general population. Immunocompromised persons such as persons with cancer undergoing chemotherapy, persons who have undergone organ transplants, people with HIV/AIDS or other immune system disorders, some elderly, and infants can be particularly at risk from infections. These people should seek advice about their drinking water from their health care providers. USEPA/Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines on appropriate means to lessen the risk of infection by Cryptosporidium and other microbial contaminants are available from the Safe Drinking Water Hotline (1.800.426.4791)”
